Departing from Bahia Drake village, stop in the Violines Island (Violin) to observe the nesting sites of some of the water birds. Your expert naturalist guide will share some of the natural history of these magnificent birds and some other organisms like Brown Boobies, frigates, pelicans, iguanas, crabs, turtles and sometimes the curious dolphins can be seen around the area. Then, the river mouth welcomes you to the mangrove Terraba-Sierpe, where the biodiversity of flora and fauna turn into a wonderful experience to visitors. Birds, raccoons, mangrove boas, howler and squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, crocs and more are right there waiting for you. You cannot miss a visit to the picturesque community of Sierpe. Go candy shopping, walk around in the town tour, and the best is yet to come…a bit of cultural history, hearing some amazing stories about the stone spheres featured downtown the village, to end up with a delicious lunch at La Perla del Sur restaurant.

-Departure from Bahía Drake.

-Journey through the canals of the Terraba - Sierpe mangrove site.
-Stop in the community of Sierpe.
-Lunch at La Perla del Sur.
-Return to Drake Bay.

** Shoes or hiking boots for walking. TEVAS or Crocs are essential for the Catarata trail which terrain is broken. Use of sandals, flip-flops are not recommended, but very useful for river-crossing. Sandals are perfect for beach-landing.
